Wrapping Up At GDC!

Brandon is at his last two panels for today before he comes home.  One of them is on 3D audio.  I’m hoping that maybe he’ll blog about some of the things he’s heard and learned at GDC as none of us were there and I’m sure you guys are as curious as I am.   There was one thing that I knew about and I couldn’t talk about it nor could he until it happened.  It happened last night!  He talks a bit about it in this Audioboo!  So check it out.  This trip may just mean big things for the blind community!

  1. Brandon,

I was at the G.A.N.G. award ceremony. I wanted to congratulate you on winning the Ambassador award. What you said on the stage had a great impact on me and really hit me hard about wanting to be part of the audio teams for making games. It reminded me of what it means to make music or sound for games. We do this for the players, and you are the embodiment of our duties as audio artists. I’m so glad to have been present for your inspirational words, and thank you for motivating me even more to create the best audio content I possibly can.

    Wishing you the best,

    Emmanuel

  2. Congratulations again, Brandon, and thank you so much. I had one person tell me that your speech was the best 5 minutes they’d seen at any GANG award show–ever. It was a pleasure to meet you and to present you with the Ambassador award, the first time we’ve ever presented that award.

FYI, The GANG awards won’t be on the GDC Vault. However, they will be broadcast sometime pretty soon on twitch.tv. I’ll be in touch to let you know the details.

Oops, I suppose this post is more appropriate on which to congratulate you, so I’ll say it again! Congratulations on receiving the GANG Ambassador Award!! And as I said on the other post – I agree, this is just the beginning!
